Hi, I'm Kate! 

Researcher, writer, musician, climber, ultrarunner, and adventurer. I have lived on four different continents, but right now am calling California home. 

I run and climb in California and the inter-mountain West.

I write and photograph on the themes of music/sound, space/land and the outdoors, landscapes and bodies, and cultural identities.

By day, I work as a PM, particularly interested in the intersections of technology, audio, and movement. My academic interests include digital cultural exchange, intangible cultural heritage and Indigenous land rights, migration and diaspora, and music and resistance.

I am a pianist, accordionist, and singer, and have a background in music performance, ethnomusicology, and music in development.

This space is a place where I share my experiences along any of these veins. Welcome!
